“App State Brew” Newsletter

Unread post by Bootsy » Mon Jul 21, 2025 6:10 am

Like many of you, an “App State Brew” email arrived in my box over the weekend. If it lives up to what is promised, it could be a move in the right direction for increasing fan engagement.

Any thoughts on this?

It just depends on what content they put in it. Is it going to be actual news about the comings and goings around the campus or is it going to be a constant advertising, marketing, money begging email that people ignore after the first few.

I’m very interested and excited to see what it is like. 3 times a week newsletter is a lofty goal though to give interesting information each time.

3 times a week is a LOT. Maybe there's more going on than I know about it, but I feel like a weekly or even a monthly might have been better served for the space. Pretty interested to see what they look like.

Also, random aside and not to hack the thread, but does anyone know if the yosefclub@appstate.edu email address is still the right one? I've sent 3 emails over the past month with a question about my giving level and have gotten zero replies.

I’m disappointed it wasn’t about beer.

Not as many as you. However, I reached out about parking assignments. Last year, I thought the process was that we put our top 3 choices or maybe communicated if wanted to suggest a change. May have missed the email, however, I inquired about that. No response.
Was not a big deal as we are fine where we are ..but if options to get closer, we were going to do so.

I’d send emails directly to the folks listed as YC on the AppState Sports site. Doug Banks, Drake Zupcic and Davis Strubel.

mountaineersathleticfund@appstate.edu May be a better email. It’s at least actively monitored and can forward to the right place at a minimum.

The company that runs these newsletters is called Sport & Story. They are located in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Several schools (P4 and G5) partner with them to produce a “brew” newsletter.

Ex - Monarch Brew, Morning Bronco, Pirate Brew, Spartan Brew, Bayou Brew, Hoos Brew and yes Razorback Brew.

They do more than newsletters. It would be cool to see them make a short film or something about App.

Must be a part of that marketing firm we signed on for a while back. We had a thread on it somewhere.

Yes, the one that's replacing Learfield. That's what that thread was about.

Publishing 3x/week is a tall order, but they’ll be plenty to cover/share during football & bball seasons. I hope they get off to a strong start.

Frankly, I had all but given up on seeing any creativity or initiative from the current crew. This could be a pleasant surprise.
