Re: RIP Legends
Was going to say I don't know how people afford hotels in Boone these days. Airbnb type places make more sense for the price these days. If I live far away and had to stay in the Boone area I would pick Wilkesboro, West Jefferson or somewhere with better prices with a little drive.

With the building gone you can see where the sink hole was, it looks like there is some old concrete infrastructure thing there. Maybe was a culvert or something.

Re: RIP Legends
Honestly, where the location is, it kind of makes sense to have another parking deck there. I know we hate parking decks, but we also hate not having parking. I never visited Legends my entire 5 years at App for what it's worth though.

Parking deck up at baseball, parking deck attached to Peacock in the future.ArmantiWaterSafety wrote: ↑Fri Jul 25, 2025 8:30 amHonestly, where the location is, it kind of makes sense to have another parking deck there. Costly, but smart from a development standpoint in a high barrier to entry market. Saves on land by going dense and vertical.Tru2ASU wrote: ↑Fri Jul 25, 2025 2:43 pmParking deck up at baseball, parking deck attached to Peacock in the future.ArmantiWaterSafety wrote: ↑Fri Jul 25, 2025 8:30 amHonestly, where the location is, it kind of makes sense to have another parking deck there. DG would totally mack it in that spot. But I think we can all agree that a parking garage would be the highest and best use of the lot.

Re: RIP Legends
The vision plan for the Peacock lot area (parking deck & greenway/park area) is really cool. But last we heard, some underground hydraulic issues were discovered in that area which could throw the parking deck plans into question.Tru2ASU wrote: ↑Fri Jul 25, 2025 2:43 pmParking deck up at baseball, parking deck attached to Peacock in the future.ArmantiWaterSafety wrote: ↑Fri Jul 25, 2025 8:30 amHonestly, where the location is, it kind of makes sense to have another parking deck there.
