Your post appears to equate the three accused with sexual assault with Alan Atwater and Price.NewApp wrote:Where did I say they're delinquents? I was merely pointing out to El Gonzo that we have had cases just as bad or worse than Price. As to the alleged assaulters, they were crucified dead and buried by most on this board. Thus, in my opinion, they should have been allowed to continue on the team. I've always contended that any female who actually presses charges' name should be released to the media just as the accused' names are or neither, but that, unfortunately is not the way the people want the system to work.BeauFoster wrote:Wait...so being accused of something makes you a delinquent now? Alan Atwater would have to rank up there along with the 3 guys who were accused of sexual assault. Of course with Atwater, we knew what we were getting into from the get go of his recruitment.

He also recruited about 25 other guys who were arrested on his watch.ASUMountaineer wrote:
It is an inexact science. The same guy that recruited Tim Tebow recruited Aaron Hernandez.
That's not a case of struggling to identify character issues, that's a case of just not caring. Meyer got what he wanted in both of those cases - stud football players. It just so happened that one of them was also a choir boy.

Quick comment to piggyback on moose's example about the coaches' recruiting trip to Alabama:
In addition to sitting down with these kids and getting to have a conversation, they are also looking at their academic transcripts and talking to teachers, coaches, etc. who see them every day. Of course, you can never predict what a 17 year-old is going to do in the future but talking to their current authority figures can usually give a pretty good idea of how they conduct themselves.

You guys totally misinterpreted my original post. What I was saying is that no matter how thoroughly we vette our recruits, character either way is still not a guarantee. I stand by that. I inferred nothing.Gonzo wrote:McLeansvilleAppFan brought up an interesting question. Then you should either post more clearly worded messages or not post at all. I'm guessing neither of these things will happen.NewApp wrote:

If you need further proof that no one knows what you are saying half the time, then you need look no further than the number of people who apparently misunderstood your original post.

Over the years, you yourself have posted some pretty darn ambiguous comments. I have stated dozens of times on here that my articulateness is on the wane. So shoot me.BeauFoster wrote:Then you should either post more clearly worded messages or not post at all. I'm guessing neither of these things will happen.NewApp wrote:

Too, there are several on here who stay up all night trying to figure out ways to pick my posts apart while at the same time expecting me to figure out when they are being sarcastic, facetious, or just comical.
