AD Potential Replacements
AD Potential Replacements
Just wanted to start the list for replacements so we could contain it in one folder.....and honestly to get the band wagon rolling for getting behind what I think is the best possible replacement.
I think Beer Hat Guy is the man for the job. He led the ice cup charge and got that changed. He will correct the Red Coat invasion of the game day experience. And of course we will get FREE landscaping for the KBS "A" to keep it in game day condition year round.
He has been around through the trips to Montana, the National Championships, and the best and worst basketball seasons of the last 20 years.
Beer Hat Guy has my unqualified support for the position of Athletic Director for Appalachian State University.
come on Everts.....get on this before Cobb lures him to Atlanta!

Re: AD Potential Replacements
I am on board ONLY if BHG promises (aka has written into his contract), that the Black Saturday giveaway this year is App State Beer Hats inspired by BHG's own beer hat. I say "inspired by" because BHG deserves to maintain the original, un-copied.asutrnr81 wrote:Just wanted to start the list for replacements so we could contain it in one folder.....and honestly to get the band wagon rolling for getting behind what I think is the best possible replacement.

He's currently making $225k/YR currently at OSU - I'm sure we can come up with more $$ to making a compelling offer.

Re: AD Potential Replacements
Here's a candidate. Was recently a finalist at Illinois State and at Rutgers.

Senior Associate Director of Athletics Jane C. Meyer
Jane C. Meyer. Ph.D. is the Senior Associate Director of Athletics at The University of Iowa and has served in this capacity since March 2001. In her current role she serves as the Senior Woman Administrator, sport administrator and oversees all intercollegiate athletics facilities projects and operations. She was the primary contact for the $88 million renovation of Kinnick Stadium (2004-2006) and has been involved with over $115 million of athletics construction projects to date. In addition, intercollegiate athletics projects currently in progress include the design and construction of a $6 million boathouse and $69 million Campus Recreation and Wellness Center, as well as the renovation of Carver Hawkeye Arena. Meyer is also a member of the prestigious NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Committee.
Prior to her arrival at The University of Iowa, Meyer served as the Director of Education Outreach with the NCAA from June 1999 to March 2001. In her role with the NCAA, Meyer directed the NCAA CHAMPS/Life Skills Program, alcohol education programs, the NCAA drug testing program, Title IX/gender equity education, women's issues and the injury surveillance program. Prior to the NCAA, Meyer was the associate director of athletics and assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Her duties included oversight of a 19-sport nationally recognized NCAA Division III intercollegiate athletics program and served as director of the graduate sports administration program.
Meyer received her Bachelor of Science degree in biology (minor in chemistry) (1982) from Mount Mercy College and her master of science (1988) and doctorate of philosophy (1992) in athletics administration from The University of Iowa.

Re: AD Potential Replacements
I wouldn't mind hiring an associate AD at a larger school that also has business experience prior to working through the college ranks.

Guess Mike Waddell may be out since he just took a senior associate AD job at Illinois just a couple of days ago. But they should talk to him at least.
