I believe some of the misinformation is coming from a very poorly written report by WSOC in Charlotte in which they state that a jogger reported hearing voices and screams in that ravine. They go on to say profile trail was closed and searched implying that is where the body was found. It is clear who ever is reporting has no idea where profile trail is and did no investigation before reporting this. I saw several other news outlets had picked that up.

I am very sad for the family. I hope if anything good can come from this tragedy it raises our awareness. I can't imagine the second guessing and what if questions that are being asked by family and friends of this young girl. I just pray that comfort comes to them.

In the race to keep up with social media the reporters are not checking facts and sources. And the race to "be first to report".

That is tragic in itself, T-Dog, but it beats the heck out of the rumors guys and gals were circulating Tuesday at my civic club meeting saying it was by hanging. They claimed they saw or heard it in the media.
