I don't know much but I do know that he gave his all for Appalachian. Why not give him the benefit of the doubt until you know for sure if it's sour grapes?
Or better yet, give him a break even if it is sour grapes. He's human, he's allowed to be disappointed if he didn't get a job he really wanted. Not even a hint of public negativity toward App as far as I can tell. It's his life, maybe he wants to try something else or make a little more money before he really retires.
Jesus, you two are defensive.... All I did was make a comment. I didn't demean Rick, question his legacy, his contribution to App or his being human ... just made an observation. I think that is still allowed?
Sure is. Same thing I was doing.

Don't know Rick's plans, but would not be surprised if he emerged as a candidate for AD somewhere.

Always pictured him as the next Gerald Adams.
Best of luck to an AP 2nd team All American Receiver.

Very sorry to see Rick go, but I wish him the best in whatever his future holds. As someone else said, I'm not one of the biggest donors, although I give what I can and Rick always treated me with a big smile and enthusiastic greeting. I'll miss seeing him at the golf outings!

I was there the day he broke the reception record. The crowd went nuts! Got a nice note from Rick last night. He is looking forward to "participating" in a tailgate for a change. I doubt he would ever have to buy food or beverages...at least not at my place.
