Sure is. Same thing I was doing.Rekdiver wrote:Jesus, you two are defensive.... All I did was make a comment. I didn't demean Rick, question his legacy, his contribution to App or his being human ... just made an observation. I think that is still allowed?EastHallApp wrote:Or better yet, give him a break even if it is sour grapes. He's human, he's allowed to be disappointed if he didn't get a job he really wanted. Not even a hint of public negativity toward App as far as I can tell. It's his life, maybe he wants to try something else or make a little more money before he really retires.proasu89 wrote:I don't know much but I do know that he gave his all for Appalachian. Why not give him the benefit of the doubt until you know for sure if it's sour grapes?Rekdiver wrote:I love Rick...but he could have given us a year. Retires after he doesn't get the AD job. I have mixed feelings about this. I appreciate all he's done but the timing seems sour grapeish.

Don't know Rick's plans, but would not be surprised if he emerged as a candidate for AD somewhere.

Always pictured him as the next Gerald Adams.
Best of luck to an AP 2nd team All American Receiver.

Very sorry to see Rick go, but I wish him the best in whatever his future holds. As someone else said, I'm not one of the biggest donors, although I give what I can and Rick always treated me with a big smile and enthusiastic greeting. I'll miss seeing him at the golf outings!

Re: Rick Beasley Announces Retirement
I was there the day he broke the reception record. The crowd went nuts! Got a nice note from Rick last night. He is looking forward to "participating" in a tailgate for a change. I doubt he would ever have to buy food or beverages...at least not at my place.TurfMonkey wrote:Always pictured him as the next Gerald Adams.
