My interaction with her has been good. She stopped by our tailgate introduced kids and thanked us for supporting the program. Very likable imo. A little reserved and not as effusive as Ken....but im not requiring the Chancellor to be a cheerleader for athletics. I want someone who can run the university and try to improve the educational environment. First she has to get her house in order and the staff needs to remember she is the boss.

3rd nailed it right on the money.

There are people commenting on the Change petition who've clearly never been involved in managing people. Not unlike a company, the university has to be very careful when discussing former employees regardless of why they have been let go. I doubt we'll hear much more on those longtime employees unless the University wants to deal with some lawsuits.

Tbh this is a mistake though. She's been here long enough to pronounce the University's title correctly. This frustrates me more then the hearsay coming out of some young alumni sharing FB posts.

One of the more interesting threads I have read on here. I find the varying views very interesting and would quote a number of people to agree, but that will take far to long. I can say I have had the opportunity to meet Chancellor Everts 8-10 times since her arrival here on our campus and a few of which I got the opportunity to exchange some dialogue. A number of people have pointed out that we have to give her some time top inherit a situation and make her own leadership decisions. I guess the issue I have is that she's all to often given the blanket statements like "we need to improve education" or we need to make strives in community relations". Well I think we can all agree with those ideas, but leadership in enacting change and being the face of it. Now I am not going to be that guy, but no one here can say that it was not a strength on Ken's to be on campus and in the community engaging students, staff and others on a daily basis. I think this is where Chancellor Evert's receives her largest portion of criticism. No matter who is in leadership we are going agree and disagree on issues, but there is a level or required level of visible effort that would go a long way in helping to ease the sharpness of criticism. Not that I want Chancellor Evert's to be like Ken (even though like many I was a huge fan), but I don't think it would hurt in the slightest to maybe take some notes because he was so beloved by the University and community. We all have the opportunity to learn from others to cut our own path and if she is not willing to do that, that is what I would find upsetting. I wish her luck, but at this point she still receives calculated criticism from myself on a number of issues. I do wish her the best of luck in righting many of these personally perceived wrongs.

P.S. But yeah, say our name right. Thanks.
