Satt or Fox?
Yet another crazy offseason hypothetical:
Who is most likely still a head coach at Appalachian State at the beginning of the 2019-2020 school year, Satt or Fox?

Re: Satt or Fox?
It truly depends on how their seasons go next year. If Satterfield has another 10+ win season, he'll garner a lot of attention and could be gone a year from now if the right offer comes calling. If Fox has another poor season with more team turnover, he could be looking off the mountain for a place to call home.

With regards to this topic I'll refer to one of my favorite movie lines; I use it all the time:
"Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you say some beautiful, and righteous?"

We don't slide at Appalachian State. It's a sign of weakness.

Kelly's Heroes. No negative wave intended. Optimism for both situations, with a dash of reality.

Re: Satt or Fox?
Interesting one. I suppose if you wanted to really be a downer you could say neither. Though at least that would mean continued success in the short term for football.
If I had to guess, I'd say Fox will be here, Satt won't.

Re: Satt or Fox?
Just saw where Satt got the extension. I know it likely doesn't change anything if a good P5 program comes calling, but it's great to have him "locked in" even if it's on paper. We are so fortunate to have a successful coach who truly bleeds black and gold. Congrats coach.

And, not only does he bleed black and gold, he knows how to win too!!MAD Doctor wrote:Just saw where Satt got the extension. Both teams with be national champions in their upcoming seasons.... AND we'll still have our coaches. Why does it smell like a skunk in here?

Re: Satt or Fox?
Assuming Satt has another 10 win season, depends on the job offers. Not sure if he'd take a P5 job if it was a really terrible job? Yeh more money in the short term, but hypothetically if he ends up at a terrible job in an unwinnable situation (Kansas, for example), fired after 3 years and have to start the career climb all over. Or wait another year and be more selective (NC State level program, for example), but risk a bad season at App and the offers are gone. For purposes of this question though, I'll say Satt.

Still better than being part of the Prig5 conferences. Oops I mean Prig6 conferences. I don't want to offend the mighty AAC.Rekdiver wrote:You win too much..........you're gone......

The kicker is Satterfield knows the door will always be open for him at ASU if/when the job is available. Timing is everything, of course.canes_mj wrote:Assuming Satt has another 10 win season, depends on the job offers. Not sure if he'd take a P5 job if it was a really terrible job? I mean, I don't think App would be turning down any P5 invites if one came our way...McLeansvilleAppFan wrote:Still better than being part of the Prig5 conferences. Oops I mean Prig6 conferences. I don't want to offend the mighty AAC.Rekdiver wrote:You win too much..........you're gone......

All of them claim to bleed black and gold until an enticing enough offer comes along.WataugaMan wrote:And, not only does he bleed black and gold, he knows how to win too!!MAD Doctor wrote:Just saw where Satt got the extension.
