Yeah Mountain House lost its appeal when they moved the first time. They lost the charm that helped overcome it's short comings. Sunrise Grill is my go to for breakfast now.

Vietnamese food will be a great add to downtown. Hope they will have better luck than the recent businesses that have opened and closed in that same spot.NO.2 wrote:Per a report from the Bushina, "Carolina Pizza" is moving into the old Capone's location and a Vietnamese/Thai/Sushi joint will be filling the adjacent spot.
I'm pretty excited at the prospect of getting a nice bowl of phò on King.
Not holding my breath on the left side of that building. Nothing has survived.NO.2 wrote:Per a report from the Bushina, "Carolina Pizza" is moving into the old Capone's location and a Vietnamese/Thai/Sushi joint will be filling the adjacent spot.

Your opinion might change once Wegmans expands further south.MtnDevil95 wrote:Boone has a Publix??? Best damn grocery store chain around, I can't wait until they move east of the Triangle. There's one going up near Surf City that I'll be able to frequent on my way to the boat, but would love to have a Publix close enough for everyday use.
Sunrise is quite the dive, sharing a building with that sketchy fun park and all. But damn the food is great.JTApps1 wrote:Yeah Mountain House lost its appeal when they moved the first time. They lost the charm that helped overcome it's short comings. Sunrise Grill is my go to for breakfast now.
Magic Mountain is the most difficult game of putt putt I've ever played.97grad wrote:Sunrise is quite the dive, sharing a building with that sketchy fun park and all. My theory is that a serial entrepreneur/future serial entrepreneur made tank's to sell.JGthatsme86 wrote:What's the story on Tank's Taco's closing after only as few months? I thought it was a cool place with pretty good food...was packed the few times I went, but that was on weekends. I see that owners of Red Onion & TaPP Room bought it.
Maybe, but part of it was that they wanted to open in Oct but didn't until March.NoLongerLurking wrote:My theory is that a serial entrepreneur/future serial entrepreneur made tank's to sell.JGthatsme86 wrote:What's the story on Tank's Taco's closing after only as few months? And decent Thai. Cha da Thai is the worst thai food I've ever had.NO.2 wrote:Per a report from the Bushina, "Carolina Pizza" is moving into the old Capone's location and a Vietnamese/Thai/Sushi joint will be filling the adjacent spot.

It is going to be a Ramen bar named Gaijin.JGthatsme86 wrote:What's the story on Tank's Taco's closing after only as few months? I thought it was a cool place with pretty good food...was packed the few times I went, but that was on weekends. I see that owners of Red Onion & TaPP Room bought it.
We got one in Hickory that opened late last Fall, I think it was. It's not close to me but while in that part of town one day I stopped in to check it out. Like you I was unimpressed. I have not been back and don't foresee going back. I did however find sport peppers there, and they are not to be found elsewhere in this town. Still, that item is not enough of a draw to lure me back.Rekdiver wrote:Went to the Publix yesterday for first time. Produce sucked. Beer selection meager. Fresh seafood not enough. Not impressed. Satisfied my curiosity. Back to HT for me.
I thought one ate ramen so he could afford to go to the bar.NO.2 wrote:It is going to be a Ramen bar named Gaijin.JGthatsme86 wrote:What's the story on Tank's Taco's closing after only as few months?
