99% of collegiate football teams stay 1 hour away to play Clemson. They all stay at the Greenville Marriott right off the interstate. Staying 30 minutes to 1.5 hours is common place for football teams. Georgia Tech is only team in around 7 years that has not stayed at that particular Marriott, because the current GT AD is odd and makes teams receive multiple bids and stay at the cheapest property even if it is not the best quality and what a team and coaching staff needs/wants. Talk about pinching the dime.

As I recall, I think the old Holiday Inn (where Lowes is now) was full service. All I really remember about it is a place called “The Alpine Room”.🥃😎
