Estimate 2,000 people (maybe)? How does a school like UAB afford this game? They shuttered the program due to a lack of money. This has to be about the costliest bowls to play in. Does UAB and Ohio eat a big chuck of tickets? Just the whole week must cost a load of money.

First class bowl. The scoreboard and the play clock don't work.

More likely the conferences do. I know the SBC has a revenue sharing agreement by which any shortfall on ticket sales are covered by other bowl games. One reason why our bowl games overall are better than the MAC and CUSA setup.

Should not a bowl game have the same attendance requirements that schools have? If they can't attract 15K on average over a 5 year period then drop the bowl. A bowl in Charleston for the Sun Belt eastern teams would draw well.

On the Ohio website the box score listed 13,500 and some change as attendance. Of course I am sure this is paid attendance and not people in seats.

We need to go to this game.
EDIT: Whoa, didn't know Reddit links auto-formatted like that.
