KANNAPOLIS — The principal of Kannapolis Middle School has been promoted to second in command at Kannapolis City Schools.
The Board of Education voted Monday to make Dr. Chip Buckwell the new assistant superintendent. He’ll replace Dr. Debra Morris, who retired Dec. 1.

Congrats to Chip. Wish you could've moved seven miles down the road, but K-Town needs all the Black and Gold influence it can get -- even if its Appalachian Black and Gold.

Mike it took nearly 5 days to see this....Thanks to you and to all who commented. I am humbled and grateful to be able to serve in this position.
I am the luckiest guy in the world....I never thought about this at any point in my career until the last couple of months!
Hope I am able to help make KCS a better place and in the meantime be able to wear some black and gold to go along with all the green and white I will be wearing during the week!
