Why long have we had this farm?
How did it come in the possession of App?
How many acres?

I don't think I knew App had a farm.

I already knew abut the farm. I had three young ladies on campus today for the official campus tour. The farm has a key section in the pre-tour presentation.

I’ve heard App Has some of the most land out of any UNC school. According to the website only 375 of the 1200 Acres owned by the school are developed

You have
-Main Campus
-State Farm urec fields/ greenway
-the ASU lake and water treatment plant
-the Hayes estate http://kallalanta.com/photos/
-new college of health sciences property
-the new high school property we all know so well
-the Manhattan Loft
-the DC house
-a functioning elementary school Forsyth county basicly gave App https://today.appstate.edu/2017/06/30/l ... -school-2/
-Camp Broadsotone in Valle Crucis https://broadstone.appstate.edu/about
-all of the new river light and power property since App still ownes the power company in town

That’s all I can remember off the top of my head

The plot of land in Wilkes county just north of deep gap where Dark Sky Observatory is located. Home to largest telescope in the state.

Also the ASU center in hickory where the old Nichols store used to be.

The DC house was sold a few years ago. Zonng changed so a loft type.place could not go there and I guess the money was not there to replace it.

Shame they could not find something in the metro DC area near the Metro line-that would be good enough for getting around DC. Easy to type-harder to implement.

That’s kind of the neat thing about app imo are all the hidden things we do. The solar team beat out reasearch universities for example. App is all about applied higher education and all of the kind of side projects including the farm are examples of that.
