App State license tag
Shouldn’t the license tag read Appalachian State instead of just Appalachian? I think it would more completely define it. Especially the farther away from this area you are. Just a thought.

I agree, wished the NC one looked a bit more like the SC one and the block A was more similar to our actual logo rather than a yellow A

I agree! Aggravates the crap out of me. I'd love to have the SC App plate...it's fantastic. The NC version looks like an Oregon-ized dayglow version.GregPercussion wrote: ↑Fri Oct 05, 2018 10:28 amI agree, wished the NC one looked a bit more like the SC one and the block A was more similar to our actual logo rather than a yellow A

Re: App State license tag
Checked with the NC DMV. They agreed that our tag needed to be updated. The process is:
Go to ww.ncdot.gov/dmv and go to forms. The first four (templates) are the size parameters allowed.
Design the desired logo within those parameters and get approval from the university to use that logo (suggested alumni association)
Submit to NC DMV and they will do it (I have the contact person 's email for approval)
Anyone interested? Submit your logo designs and let's agree on one. I will take it from there. They can only go on first in flight or freedom tags. This is doable. I recommend the black block A with Appalachian State underneath it. Thanks.

Re: App State license tag
It's a damn shame Virginia discontinued their App State tags due to lack of interest. My mother was able to get a set before they were discontinued, and while they aren't registered with her current vehicle, looks great in the garage.
It featured the old 1980s Yosef logo, and I believe under it said Mountaineers in the same cursive writing we have in the block A.

We don't slide at Appalachian State. It's a sign of weakness.

I still sport mine on my car but I wonder what needs to be done to resurrect it with a new design./\PP ST/\TE GRAD 09 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 05, 2018 1:40 pmIt's a damn shame Virginia discontinued their App State tags due to lack of interest. Re: App State license tag
I'd like to see a full black plate with the Block A and Alumni underneath. We'd need 500 applications to get that off the ground. Only 499 to go!

YesAppCan, see what you can come up with. I will be glad to help any way I can. This needs to happen. My son sports a University of Kentucky North Carolina tag that looks good. I MUST outdo him. Thanks.

I have the block A on both of the cars I drive. If you know about App then you recognize what it is.
Reminds me of the retired Air Force tag we have... If you know nothing about the Air Force younwoidl not recognize it.

Re: App State license tag
I just looked it up on the Virginia DMV site. I think the main reason the Alumni Association doesn't do Virginia plates any longer is that there is no revenue sharing from Virginia with out-of-state schools. There's nothing in it for them. But it seems, from reading the guidelines, that an individual could gather everything as a labor of love.hapapp wrote: ↑Fri Oct 05, 2018 4:47 pmI still sport mine on my car but I wonder what needs to be done to resurrect it with a new design./\PP ST/\TE GRAD 09 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 05, 2018 1:40 pmIt's a damn shame Virginia discontinued their App State tags due to lack of interest. Non-Virginia
Colleges/Universities
• Submit a signed Agreement prepared by DMV.
• Select one contact person from your organization to facilitate the
development and approval process for the license plate. Also, that
person will be responsible for disseminating their internal updates.
• Submit the DMV Plate Sponsor (VSA 154) form, to identify you as
the sponsor for the new plate.
• Facilitate the collection of 350 or more prepaid applications ($25
non personalized and $35 personalized) from applicants with active
vehicle registrations. (Note: Revenue sharing is not an option.)
Applicants must use DMV's Preorder Request (VSA 10D)
application to be provided by DMV License Plate Development.
• Create and submit design.

Re: App State license tag
Anyone who purchases these App tags should have this go towards their respective Yosef Club points!
Correct me if I'm wrong but don't think it is currently considered in the system.
