Re: Construction Pics
Seems like those steps could have been taken in November. This season is going to be rough, hope our fanbase is patient (I know they won’t be).

Re: Construction Pics
I thought north temp bleachers were not installed this season because Demo started Monday after SBC Championship game? I guess that was incorrect info.
They could have driven a big bulldozer through it and hauled debris off in dump trucks in a week.

Re: Construction Pics
That was a better explanation than the apparent truth that we really didn't need them. Just sayin'.

Re: Construction Pics
It's actually pretty simple according to what's being said around campus. The demo bids were placed but only two companies bid on the contract. By NC law, for a formal construction bidding (which includes demolition), you have to have three or more for the first bid. You are required to go through the re-advertisement and open bidding again (which requires a 7 day minimum before you can re-advertise and then you have to wait just short of two months before you can close the bidding), only the second time the three or more is not required. That's the reason for the delay. Word also is the new construction crews are and have been ready to go. Just waiting for a cleared lot to begin.
Personally I haven't had the time to look all this up for confirmation but there is a link below for the NC State Construction Manual. The part about bidding starts around page 65 or so for those who want to take a look. Regardless word is, as T-Dog and others have stated, that the demo will start in a couple of weeks and shouldn't take all that long to complete.

Re: Construction Pics
They could have made Owens experience an "electrical fire" and raze the building for free.

Owens Update:
There is now a pile of rubble where the stump used to be. I assume they dug it up. There is
also another pile of rubble a couple feet away from the stump site. A trailer is now by the rock and the entrances to KBS have been gated off.

Re: Construction Pics
I don't see the big deal. The demolition is pretty straightforward and should not take very long at all. Meanwhile there is not much construction that could have taken place in December and January anyway.

Thanks, it’s really just a bunch of inefficient government regulations getting in the way of progress

Re: Construction Pics
Is the plan still to just turf over the track? I am a little worried about how that will end up looking, albeit I’m not familiar at all about the process.
