There has to be someone... anyone...that has or can take a few pictures to share with the board.

Re: Construction Pics
Maybe it’s the same people doing road work in Charlotte. They’ll tear down Owens after the finish the Hawthorn Bridge.

Re: Construction Pics
Hope they didn't hire the same crew that widened 321. What'd that take, 11 years?

Longer I'd say...they were already working on it when I was in school in 2003 and they just finished it

Re: Construction Pics
They started shutting down 321 to blast in 2006. Kids these days won't remember the cannonball run down 321 trying to beat the blasting schedule then turning around because you missed it by 5 minutes.appaneer1984 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 24, 2019 1:24 pmLonger I'd say...they were already working on it when I was in school in 2003 and they just finished it

Re: Construction Pics
Luckily, I was gone by then. I really miss the drive up on the old 321, I felt like a rally car driver. I don’t miss getting stuck behind a semi prior to blowing rock though. I remember when there was a rock slide in 2002 and 321 was shut down, that was a pain.APPdiesel wrote: ↑Thu Jan 24, 2019 5:19 pmThey started shutting down 321 to blast in 2006. Re: Construction Pics
Yep. I was a freshman in 2002. I remember taking 221 to Marion, 40 to Asheville, 26 to Tuxedo, and 153 to Clemson to go visit my sister at school.appstatealum wrote: ↑Thu Jan 24, 2019 5:47 pmLuckily, I was gone by then. Re: Construction Pics
I can remember having to drive through "the valley" from Morganton during one of the washouts. Came out in downtown Blowing Rock. Globe Road, some of it was dirt. Only did that route once.

Re: Construction Pics
Can someone in Boone post any construction related pictures???? I'm dying to see something; I'd even settle for the stump of the aforementioned giant pine that was cut down.

Re: Construction Pics
Almost two months since our last home game, and a tree has been cut down. They better get moving. We have some big games coming up in Boone and need to have this construction behind us.

Re: Construction Pics
I think cutting the tree is the extent of it. All the rest was smokescreen to get that dang tree cut down.

Re: Construction Pics
The electrical has been taken out of Owens. It's deserted and looks like a building about to be destroyed. All the lampposts near it are gone. But it doesn't look any different, for now.
