This is now the second sport that Nike has designed with the scripted Mountaineers as a stand alone from the Block A.

I hope that we see that on football and Nike clothing. I like it.

I am a big fan of victory Yosef logo too. I know that some folks don't care for it and I have heard that some administration folks don't like it because of the corn cob pipe as the link to smoking is bad and reference to AppState pot smoking. I don't think that it is a big concern but on the other hand, I would like it just as well if the current characture lost the corn cob pipe.

I remember reading that former coach Jerry Moore was the original writer. Don't remember the context however.

Is Drinkwitz going to keep the A on the helmet that has been there for the past 30 years?

It's not Brush Script or a standard font. I'm going to do some research and see what I can figure out what font it is, if it even is a font.

I thought this as well but is looks like the "eers" is falling off almost like it was handwritten. People probably think I am crazy for thinking that much about it but always thought it would be a cool tat if had a good backstory.

I think that the block A received the scripted Mountaineers after Jerry Moore arrived. I can't remember it during my late 1980s time.

I don't think that it is a font either. I think it is a graphic design.

I agree it's certainly not Brush Script (which is more slanted) but it's similar. My earlier comparison with the brush script was based on about 2 minutes of messing around and I didn't have time to put them side by side. I just seem to remember reading where Coach Moore created the design that way, but I could be completely wrong. No "value judgement" was intended obviously since I love the Block A logo.

I have to admit that I've grown pretty fond of the black Block A.

I enjoy the script logo but I don't see myself liking it anywhere on the football uni's. Maybe if it was small somewhere. Definitely would look good in other sports like baseball, track, etc.

I've never like logos that go down the pant/short legs in any fashion. Just my opinion. I like the clean pants with maybe some sort of stripe and a hip logo.

Brush script looks very similar but it looks like it's been tweaked a little. The "s" falls off the line just a little.
