Unread post by /\PP ST/\TE GRAD 09 » Wed May 01, 2019 11:44 am

Wanted to start a thread (while I remembered) for people to share pictures or links to social media sites showing their support for App on #iBackAPP day tomorrow, 2 May.

A lot of folks like to talk a big talk. Lets see everyone put their money where their mouth is.

Remember this event isn't about the amount of money raised, but the percentage of alumni that give back to Appalachian.

Gave during the early Champions period and will be giving again tomorrow - such a HUGE day each year for Appalachian. Being a former Alumni Council member tomorrow means a lot to me, as I know the EXHAUSTING amount of work and thought and effort that goes into making #ibackAPP day such a success each year. It all culminates with a # at the end of the night, a $ and donor number, that we always hope tops the previous year's numbers...and I have no doubt we'll do so yet again tomorrow. APP Nation just keeps stepping up in every way in regard to financials (as evidenced by increased Yosef giving, General Fund giving, ASU Foundation endowment growth, endowed scholarship growth, etc., and that shows we have a healthy university that is still in the building phase, and that's a great thing when so many school's are idling or even regressing in regard to financial support.

I'm with HkyMtneer and gave during Champions sign-up and will give again today. Having represented Yosef on Alumni Council these past three years, I've seen first hand the work that goes into this day and the impact this day has economically for the university. App has always done more with less than anyone could have thought possible. Imagine what App could do if we backed App as loudly with our dollars as we do with our hearts and mouths!

#iBackAPP today and every day.

It's still early but the #'s look good - we're on pace! If you know anyone...alums or otherwise, that might like to chip in and give even $5 or $10 then by all means, reach out to them and share the link. And let them know that every dollar is huge, and means so much in ways (like annual giving %'s) that they might not even realize. BTW, I had to attach my "#ibackAPP because..." photo -- from last week while at that "other" Rock at Alcatraz and while already thinking about fall Saturdays back at the real Rock in Boone :P

Thank you to everyone who donated. We cut it a little close this year on reaching our goal of 2500 people. Which we got a bit after midnight this morning. 2502 and $172,300 raised. Great job!

Whatever you're able to give is enough. Your participation is more important than the number of dollars. Thanks for giving!
