App artist in Greensboro

My wife and I celebrated our 26th Anniversary a few days ago. I have always been able to get her a gift off the traditional or modern anniversary lists where the traditional list offers no suggestions, which is most years actually. Year 26 was a bit vague on the modern list but original artwork was suggested among other suggestions.

Since we are both graduates of App I was hoping to find an App connection with the gift and I found an artist with a degree from App in fine arts and she lives in Greensboro as well so it was win-win-win.

I wanted to give her a quick plug. Her art is abstract but it is also what I can afford.

Morgan was a neighbor of ours from Summerfield (GSO suburb). Great kid from a great family.

I assumed she was from the area but we only talked for a minute or two and it was more about the art and what I say and such.

Small world.

Her work is abstract, no question about that.

The work I purchased reminds me of Erlenmeyer flasks and my wife is a Chem major, and we both teach chemistry. Also some of the blue color invokes a copper solution.

The piece I purchased does invoke an underlying feeling which is what abstract art is about.

Morgan also left a note for us and renamed the work with a chemistry theme. I thought that was very sweet of her.

It may be the only piece of original art work I ever purchase so knowing it comes from a fellow App grad puts a bit more of a smile on my face.

I think her work is great. You know not to take me seriously.
