Re: Luke Combs Concert?
I’d have to think that it’s going to be a no-go.
I’d say we’ll be lucky to be gathering in any numbers by Labor Day.
I hope I’m wrong and this thing passes much faster.

Re: Luke Combs Concert?
I think it's safe to say that the Luke Combs concert will not occur in Boone in early May. There is no way the concert would be held when the spring graduation ceremonies scheduled for the following week are cancelled.
It's possible that the concert can be re-scheduled but there will be multiple obstacles for a new date.

I can’t imagine them carrying on with the show. Simply because of all the students gone. Weren’t there a ton of student tickets?

That’ll demolish any hopes we had of strong attendance for the ECU game in Charlotte

That would be a long weekend of fun to me go to game and then concert on Saturday. I'll be up there that weekend, but won't be able to get or afford tickets.

Re: Luke Combs Concert?
I suspect many of our students that are both football and Combs fans will now stay put in Boone as opposed to coming down for the game. Awful timing.

Most students party on Thursday night and Saturday night. I still do too.

I beg to differ and think it will be a big long weekend. We crush ECU in BOA and then party in KBS Saturday to celebrate a big kickoff for 2021-22 season.

You must have had more money than I did when I was a student.mike87 wrote: ↑Fri May 21, 2021 12:34 pmMost students party on Thursday night and Saturday night. I still do too.
$50 App game on Thursday + hotel or gas to/from Boone + food etc.
Then turn around and do a concert on Saturday that’ll probably be like $50 again.
I was a $.75 cent PBR + ramen noodle man in college haha.

Re: Luke Combs Concert?
The students that have tickets to Luke Combs bought them over a year ago -- pretty sure thats enough time to earn the $50 again if they want to do both.
Plus, we have a ton of alumni in Charlotte area making the Thursday game much more doable than Thursday games in Boone.

Money doesn't define taste obviously. $.75 PBR is still the go to beer.ah59396 wrote: ↑Fri May 21, 2021 12:59 pmYou must have had more money than I did when I was a student.mike87 wrote: ↑Fri May 21, 2021 12:34 pmMost students party on Thursday night and Saturday night. I still do too.
