Re: NFL Draft
I thought it was actually a quicker pace than normal. Obviously there will be tons of ads because the NFL is going to make as much money as they can of this. One thing I thought interesting towards the end of the broadcast was Mel saying he predicts 6 RBs in the second round. I don't think Evans moves into the second round but I also didn't think Damon Arnette would be drafted in the first two rounds. It really comes down to each teams draft board(the most obvious statement anyone can make). If six RBs do come off the board in the second round tonight I think we could be surprised. I so think the Seahawks pick of Brooks from TXTECH (I heard 3rd-5th) could mean ADG could bump up as well.

Re: NFL Draft
I'm with you on Evans in theory. In practice I just see a team pulling the trigger earlier than that. Seeing a lot more mock drafts with Evans going ahead of ADG. His speed and versatility are huge pluses and add in the fact that he doesn't fumble while still having great production numbers will help. Oh and add in the fact that almost none of the running backs had pro days so the teams are going to have to go off film and interviews; Evans crushes in both those areas. Again it only takes one team to fall in love.

Re: NFL Draft
I watched the last 15 or so picks, so I didn't see the very start, but it did seem like things went much more quickly than in the past. I wonder if being remote, everyone planned out a little better (in terms of picks) and that sped things up? It seemed that as soon as they got done with the 60 second bio on the current pick, they'd flash up that the next pick was in. There absolutely no reason that a draft should take more than 3-4 minutes a pick.
I quickly got tired of all the life stories of each pick, they can leave that stuff behind. And the stupid stuff Goodell was doing was just that...stupid. Just announce the pick, man. No one likes you and never will, so stop trying to be more (fake) likable.

Re: NFL Draft
Yea the hoopla involved is a tad much, but I think that's thrown in for the more casual fans. I would love an Express lane style draft but I doubt we ever see that. This is actually a reprieve from the past few years "parties". They were going to ferry the draft picks up onto an island stage this year and I can only imagine how long that would take.BeauFoster wrote: ↑Fri Apr 24, 2020 2:24 pmI watched the last 15 or so picks, so I didn't see the very start, but it did seem like things went much more quickly than in the past. Re: NFL Draft
ADG and Evans will go tonight. I'm calling it. Third round, but I bet it's happening today. Hopeful Evans goes to my Ravens

Re: NFL Draft
well I would love to see Darryton go tonight but I don't think it will happen - only one RB was picked in the 1st round and that was pick #32 - The top 3 RBs (in the experts minds) were not taken - Of course, the top guys will go tonight but I'm not sure how important these teams see taking a RB early --- Hope they both have their names called tonight ---

Re: NFL Draft
Dugger from LR is a beast. Draft moving nicely. Saw Evans to Ravens as last pick Im 3rd round in one poll.

Re: NFL Draft
Dugger has alot of physical tools. He will fit into the type of things the Patriots want him to do. He was dominant at the D2 level. It's been a fun draft to watch so far. Big hopes for all of the Mountaineers and I hope to see the picks of them soon.

Re: NFL Draft
I had heard this guy was moving up the boards and had a few nice highlights but who was he abusing- Mars Hill and Wingate? Dumb pick. He was probably available in the 4th round. I love the Panther picks. They have rebuilt the front 4 now grab ADG in the 3rd. He’s the 4th rated OLB right now

Re: NFL Draft
Dugger was THE small school guy in the draft. He also absolutely killed the combine. There was absolutely no way he was getting out of the second round. Who did Darius Leonard play when he was at SC State? No one. Does that mean he shouldn't have been a second round pick in 2018? Nope he was a steal in the second round. Some guys are just late bloomers physically which is what Duggar is.bigdaddyg wrote: ↑Fri Apr 24, 2020 6:56 pmI had heard this guy was moving up the boards and had a few nice highlights but who was he abusing- Mars Hill and Wingate? Re: NFL Draft
Dugger was a baller at LR. He was one that fell through the cracks to get to them. Hes the exact kind of player the patriots turn in to a system monster.
I agree with the previous posters about the panthers doing well. I am impressed with the quality of their picks. On paper this has been the best overall draft they've had in an incredibly long time.
The panthers are always going to be a what if team to look back on these past few years. Injuries, dumb draft picks, hanging on to a coach for too long ,etc. This has me interested again in the Panthers. Rhule is really setting them up for a good rebuild. Teddy Bridgewater will be a nice bridge QB for the rebuild. He will keep them competitive to keep butts in seats and there are enough young guns on the team to build a potential deep run in 3-4 years.

Re: NFL Draft
Becton is very talented but his weight is a concern. His mom is a chef and I believe he is also. He will have to get that under control in the NFL but if he does watch out.CornCobPipes wrote: ↑Thu Apr 23, 2020 8:46 pmOne good note is Becton OL beast coached a season by Satt and crew goes to the Jets to block for Jalin Moore

Re: NFL Draft
I expect ADG before Evans. Last I heard the projection was 3rd round or early 4th for ADG and early 4th for Evans. He may sneak in late 3rd.NavyApp wrote: ↑Fri Apr 24, 2020 12:31 pmI'm with you on Evans in theory. In practice I just see a team pulling the trigger earlier than that. Dugger was a very good player. I am not sure another D2 player gets drafted tonight. Dugger was the best D2 player, by far, according to what I heard.hotrod2001 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 24, 2020 6:39 pmWow, New England took a guy from Lenoir Rhyne in the second round?

Re: NFL Draft
Becton ran an incredible 5.1 --40 time at the Combine. Unbelievable for his size.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 24, 2020 9:07 pmBecton is very talented but his weight is a concern.
