Seeing as Benjamin Howard was a British loyalist, I’m afraid there are some here who would be 100 percent for it.

I would be again it if only for the fact that it would need to be Howard Dorm and Knob Dorm as the peak is actually called Howard Knob and not Howard's Knob.

It took 4 or 5 edits on the Boone, NC Wikipedia page to change the name. I was producing USGS references and it keep reverting back. I finally convinced someone that was keeping an eye on the Boone wikipedia page as it has stayed as Howard Knob for a while now. The Howard Knob wikipedia page does mention the alternate possessive s form as well, which is fine. I think the USGS page mentions both forms but clearly lists Howard Knob as the official name. I have not been to the USGS page if a good bit.
