My degree was in communication arts. Heard this news today and called my old roommate. Hadn't talked to him in 15 years or so. So glad I did. We both had multiple classes with him.
I don't know if any of you guys had a class with Tyrie, but looking back it's amazing how much I learned from him and so many other professors.
Also, if you haven't talked to your old college pals in a while, give em a call. It was so good talking to Rob today.

Every single time someone mistakenly drops a “1st Annual” I think of him.
Learned a lot from that man. RIP Dr. Tyrie.

Exactly. I had Tyrie for a few classes, plus he was my advisor. Sad news.proasu89 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 13, 2020 4:12 pmNeer86 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 13, 2020 3:34 pmMy degree was in communication arts. Re: Professor Carl Tyrie has passed away.
surprised and glad to see some here knew him.
One of the things I talked about with my roommate today was how much we learned from so many of our professors and how we took it for granted.
Be thankful for the things we've taken for granted. Thanks to all those who chose to teach.

I was fortunate to have several classes led by Carl Tyrie and learned a lot. Very sorry to hear of his passing but it brings back good memories and lessons. RIP

I was a business major. Never had Dr. Tyrie , but I had roommates that did!!! Therefore, I know "1st Annual" is wrong. We all discussed it often. I think it is the under-appreciated part of college. You learn from your professors but you also learn from your friends what they learned from their professors. One of you English majors needs to correct that last sentence and I will learn from you again.proasu89 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 13, 2020 4:12 pmNeer86 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 13, 2020 3:34 pmMy degree was in communication arts.
