Greetings from Louisiana

Unread post by Bacca » Sat Jul 25, 2020 4:25 pm

Hey App Fans (or should I say Football daddy?),

Just wanted to let everyone know UL has a new fan message board, www.rougarooms.com. We invite any App fans. Feel free to talk trash about football, but be ready for return trash talk about just about every other sport! :D

Im sure someone will ask what "Rougarooms" means. Briefly, the Rougarou is part man, part wolf, that prowls the swamps down here. The story is passed through the generations. Most Cajuns had parents that would scare them into sleeping at night, telling them that the Rougarou likes to attack kids who dont fall asleep. Just a fun play on words.

On a personal note, been up to Boone twice. Love the city and atmosphere. Yall are doing it right!

I would pay good money if they did another one of these skits.

Bacca, Thanks for sharing and the invite to the new UL message board and the Rougarou name explanation. Hoping we have the chance to resume our competitive matchups this Fall and remain your “Football Daddy.” Until then stay well and I’m sure all of us on YC appreciate your kind words about Boone! And as a Panthers fan, let me say it’s nice to share one of your guys Jake Delhomme.

We always find a way. The financial outlook in Louisiana, and Lafayette specifically, has been grim for the past several years, yet we still find ways to grow our revenue. Only time will tell how bad COVID will affect us.

I don't know how accurate the dialect is but Seth's deadpan with the over the top exaggerated dialect just kills. They have done the Maine Justice skit twice, and it is funny, but this is so much funnier and should be done again, especially with an election year.

They have done Appalachian Emergency Room about 7 times but they don't even come close to the dialect of the Southern Appalachian Highlands, if indeed that is what they were going for.

Ha! To resume this Fall or to win? Think I know what you are referring to so I’ll say I always like our chances, especially with our track record as the favored team.
