In Charlotte at Sugar Creek today. Seems like they could go to one of the App owned Breweries

To be fair, we don’t really know that they didn’t look into that. Do we? Sugar Creek was equipped to handle the crowd without affecting normal business, I.e. a separate meeting room as well as the ability to cater it. If you can give me names of App owned businesses,I don’t mind asking if they inquired.NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Thu Apr 07, 2022 9:35 pmIn Charlotte at Sugar Creek today. Went to the one in Raleigh, not a lot of breaking news but damn it was nice to have a normal in person event and get to see old friends. I think we talked more about crazy real estate prices in Boone than x's and o's of football. The presentation was nice but nothing we don't already know.

Ford Craven with Southern Strain Brewery. Original location in Concord with satellite location in Plaza Midwood. Ben Dolphens with Devine Barrel Brewing in NoDa. Sugar Creek is certainly a great spot to host functions and Joe Vogelbacher is super cool, so don’t want to take business away from him. And you’re right, Sugar Creek has the separate banquet bar so that functions would not interfere with the regular customers, so it may just be a better fit.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 08, 2022 6:24 amTo be fair, we don’t really know that they didn’t look into that. I wish some of the stops would not be during middle of the day, what about many in professions that do not allow a long lunch break or ability to leave work for lunch. We produced tons of educators, clearly that profession, among others can't go during the middle of the day. They used to have it in the evening for the Piedmont Triad.

It looked to be a really cool venue. I didn’t get to explore it but the patio in the back looked nice. The Protagonist next door looked like a pretty cool place as well. Need better parking all around the area though.NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Fri Apr 08, 2022 7:48 amFord Craven with Southern Strain Brewery. The Auburn trip to Holmes has been pushed back until 2023. The coaches on hand spoke about some things that they would like to have to enhance the program. Volleyball is getting a new playing surface. Soccer would like to have some minor upgrades to the facility. Coach JMB brought some of his wrestlers to the event last night.

Was disappointed with the Hickory event. Nice it was combined with the baseball game but Doug only made made a few quick remarks, introduced the coaches then when the game started they all disappeared, except for Coach Kerns. He stuck around and walked the buffet line and spoke to people.

It wasn't all that long ago they had one in Greenville, Columbia, and Charleston. All were poorly attended for the few years they did it so they stopped going there. No point in spending thousands of dollars on an event when less than 10 people show up.
