We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. Grading the 21-22 Athletic Year
Looking back now that it's a wrap, I'm not sure we aren't treading water at best, slipping backward perhaps. There were single game highlights and a rasslin non-Sunbelt title but I feel like we under-performed. At least to my expectations.Zero Sunbelt Championships.Laying eggs in the football title and bowl games.I'm giving us a "C" for the year.

I believe you're being generous with a C grade. I'd go C-, at best, more like a D+.Stonewall wrote: ↑Tue May 31, 2022 11:55 amLooking back now that it's a wrap, I'm not sure we aren't treading water at best, slipping backward perhaps. There were single game highlights and a rasslin non-Sunbelt title but I feel like we under-performed. On a 1-10 scale it would be a 4- for me. And that's being a bit generous. Probably more like a 3 to 3+. Hurts to type that!
The SC Upstate Bball game was a low point along with the bowl and CC football games.

After our men’s soccer team didn’t lose a game all season, I’m surprised more aren’t giving higher grades.

I enjoyed attending and watching our student athletes compete this year. Sure there were ugly losses, but there were more wins and some pretty dang exciting ones. I'd rather be us than them every day and twice on Sunday. You pick the them. 90

Re: Grading the 21-22 Athletic Year
The unofficial Bubas Cup standings:
Team/Points
1. Texas State 123
2. South Alabama 122
3. Coastal Carolina 108.5
4. Arkansas State 104.5
5. UTA 102.5
6. Louisiana 97
7. Troy 91
8. Georgia State 89
9. Appalachian State 87
10. Georgia Southern 71.5
11. ULM 56
12. Little Rock 53
We were in 4th heading into the Spring season, twelve points out of 1st and three out of 3rd. In almost every one of the Spring sports, our spending on those sports sits at or near the bottom of the conference.

Interesting perspectives. Sobering to see the Bubas score sheet.

Re: Grading the 21-22 Athletic Year
I think this is a very important ranking. You can't just expect to rule and football absolutely can't carry a program. How have we ranked by year end since we joined full-time? Is this the lowest (theoretically) since we went full-time in the Belt? I know that mostly it comes down to money but is it really all about money? Can you dig up any really good SOCON App teams from the past and put them against one of this year's team (say a peak baseball team against this one) and make an argument that the old one was better? I realize that's not a true comparison but I'd wager that it's about true. Are we really making strides as an athletic program to raise the bar with our level of athletes and teams? Looking at these grades makes me wonder. We shuttered programs that had been successful and we don't hear anything about T&F which was pretty damn dominant for years.
