I would like some advise about reg. on CSNbbs. From the beginning I have been unable to join because problems signing up. Most of the time it rejects my email address. It is now down for guest. I am trying to sign up again and the same problems.

I think you have to provide an isp given email address, not a "throwaway" address like Hotmail, yahoo, Gmail and the like.

But I am not certain. I registered there years ago with a charter address.

Thanks a bunch. I typed my name @northlandcable.net and it went straight through. ISP (internet service provider) account, I did not know it existed

You may now be able to go to your user control panel and change that to an address you are more likely to use.

That is correct that CSNbbs requires an ISP, or educational e-mail and not gmail or hotmail.

On a related note, anyone who has ever registered as an alum on the Goldbook site provided by the Alumni Office has a permanent e-mail address at the alumni.appstate.edu domain. Once you register at the alumni site you create the e-mail address and then you can link it to any e-mail account you use. If anyone here hasn't registered, it costs nothing and the Goldbook is a great way to find people you haven't seen in years.

That's weird. I used my Yahoo email address when I registered and it worked fine. They might have added rules because of the influx of new members though.
