Sunergy solar vehicle team Summer 2023

Unread post by McLeansvilleAppFan » Tue Jul 11, 2023 4:01 pm

Likely to be something in a press release soon but ran across this on social media below and posting now.
----------------------------------
Congratulations to the Appalachian State Solar Vehicle Team on placing second in the Formula Sun Grand Prix! The team completed 275 laps totaling 687.5 miles.

With a team that prioritizes success on and off the track, quality time, and team-building exercises and trips, it’s no surprise that they also came home with the Abe Poot Teamwork Award.

Team Sunergy represents App State’s commitment to sustainable energy initiatives and has fun while doing it!
--------------------------------

Traditionally App State competes against some heavyweight schools with well known engineering programs.

I love the success these guys have every year. They compete against, and beat schools with high level engineering programs.

Abe Poot? C'mon.

I wonder how much they reuse each year or if they start from scratch do to constantly changing rules. Regardless the hold there own.

Side note: One can direct donations to the Appalachian Foundation directly to Sunergy.

A reel from Facebook. I have no idea if you can watch this if not on Facebook. I doubt it.

Thoughts on the Yosef sticker on the helmet?

I am not sure of the exact breakdown and I am not sure if the Sunergy team knows exactly but Physics majors plays a big part in this as does Dept of Technology. Some Chem majors likely as well. But there are lots of majors involved in business and art for press releases. Very interdisciplinary, which makes this all the better.
