Great man. He was super connected to the students and I used to love how he would walk around campus randomly and engage students in dialogue. Proud to have him as my chancellor for 2 years.

Gut punch on this one. Quite honestly I attribute the student involvement with all sports because of Ken Peacock. I was right in the middle of Borkowski leaving and Peacock taking over. Peacock was so approachable and present, which I appreciated greatly. May he rest in peace and I can only hope they play they App St fight song for him!

I’m sorry to hear that. He and Laney were awful and getting rid of them was the best thing to ever happen to App.ASUTodd wrote: ↑Fri Oct 06, 2023 5:02 pmBorkowski..... yeah... his name is on mine.

I once thought about seeing if he would autograph my diploma. Well, the glass. I regret not doing it even more now.

Wey signed mine.
Peacock had the vision to make App the best in everything that the university did.

I was in the last class that got our degrees signed by him. His leadership and the culture he instilled from the top help made App a welcoming place. Day 1, without ever visiting App, I knew I was in the right place. He had a hand in that and I’m forever grateful he made App a home away from home for so many.

I would like to see a huge black and gold bowed on the 35 yardline between the hash and the sideline.
We don't slide at Appalachian State. It's a sign of weakness.

Dr. Wey signed my undergrad diploma, Dr. Thomas my masters diploma.

That would be fitting.

This is a cool idea. It will be interesting to see what the university does to properly honor him.
Speaking only for myself, I'd have a hard time coming up with something that properly thanks the man for all he did for App.
We'll never have another leader like Dr. Peacock.

Peacock was one of a kind. I had him for one of my accounting classes and although I hated accounting he made it interesting. Loved seeing the interaction he had with students at the games. My daughter, class of 2011 was so excited to get her diploma from him.

Re: Chancellor Kenneth E. Peacock
I ran into Dr. Peacock at Real Q (best place to eat bar-b-q in Winston) a few days before the 50th anniversary celebration of the COB. He was eating with his family but still took the time to talk to me about App and the COB. The only other time I had been around him was in Ann Arbor after our historic win. Our group had our picture taken with him standing in the middle of us.
Like a couple of other grads on here, my diploma was signed by Dr. Wey.

Not sure if they have time for game on Tuesday...be great to have an upbeat appreciation video of Dr. Peacock at football and other sporting events. I think he would want all to celebrate life... nothing like a sold out stadium to do so..

He was my accounting professor back in 1983-84, I can't think of ASU without thinking of him. We'll never forget you Ken Peacock.

They have enough time and 100% need to do it. We aren’t FBS without Ken and those who put him in place.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Sat Oct 07, 2023 8:38 amNot sure if they have time for game on Tuesday...be great to have an upbeat appreciation video of Dr. Peacock at football and other sporting events. I would encourage those who knew Ken to contact the family with the email on that link. Ken needs to be celebrated! He is going to be missed. Our team should be wearing a patch or something to honor him. What a remarkable legacy he has left on our program. If there was a Mount Rushmore for App State he would be on it.

Re: Chancellor Kenneth E. Peacock
Dr. Ken Peacock's first year at App was my senior year in the accounting department. He was largely responsible for my career path since he was the reason that Price Waterhouse started interviewing on campus that year. He was a PW alum. I got hired and started my career at PW. I met with Peacock a few times to advise me during the first few years of my career. He was a good friend and I am truly saddened at his loss.

They are. In fact, more than just a helmet sticker will be done to honor Ken Peacock. Might want to get to your seats early.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 08, 2023 12:11 pmI would encourage those who knew Ken to contact the family with the email on that link. Ken needs to be celebrated!
