I thought we used CLC for licensing. That logo looks familiar. And CLC is a part of IMG, which we do use of course. Did we change licensing agents recently?

On a related question, how does the money get split between the different product sales via bookstore, bookstore at KBS, and buying stuff online through appstatesports.com. I assume the bookstore sells either in the bookstore or in KBS stays with the bookstore and the online sales through appstatesports.com stay with the Athletic dept. Does the bookstore pay rent to be at KBS which would effectively channel money to the athletics program. A bit curious.

Re: App State College Licensing
App was using LRG (Licensing Resource Group) as far back as at least the mid/late 90's. After my dad retired he started a little side business selling afghans, throws, pillows, etc, to college stores. I helped him run it for a couple of years. I had to deal with both CLC and LRG. Of the two LRG was, by far, the easiest to work with. Product approval took a quarter of the time and a tenth of the hassle. The company was started by a former CLC exec who moved out on his own.
As to the second part (and this could have changed since then) the monies from the bookstore sales at both locations were bookstore money. The KBS store was staffed by bookstore employees on game days. The did have an arrangement with Athletics on sales at the stadium but I can't remember the %. Online sales were handled between the web site (once that became important) and the Athletics Department. All that could have changed as I didn't pay much attention to it after I moved to VA.

That is about what I figured. Seems reasonable.firemoose wrote:App was using LRG (Licensing Resource Group) as far back as at least the mid/late 90's. I support athletics through my tickets and finally a very small donation to Yosef Club that I started doing this year. Most all of my App State money goes to help with scholarships hrough the App Foundation. I try and buy an item or so in Greensboro to help encourage the area stores to stock the stuff, but I mostly try to buy from the student store on campus when I am in Boone as that seems to be the biggest bang for the buck in helping the university. Then again the local stores in Boone deserve support as well. I have an obvious case of not having enough income to do what I would like to be able to do so my spending is rather deliberate in this area.
At the LRG site I notice we take 10%, which is what NCSU takes, but most take 8% at least in North Carolina. We also charge a bit more than the others in the state for set-up but less than NCSU charges.
This is my very generic signature added to each post.
