This is great. Partnering with a private school is a great way to accomplish ventures like this, as opposed to on our own where The Great Evil (UNC) would surely block it via that BOG if given the chance.

Good find. Thanks for posting this very timely news. PAs are going to be our new "new doctors" under Obama's ACA--affordable care act. We have to hope they are very good at what they do; otherwise some of us will be in a lot of health trouble a ways down the road. Scary, scary stuff--especially for those among us who are beginning to pile up the birthdays. Myself included!

This also seems to be a personal victory for Peacock, In the Spring I attended the App tour with in West Palm. Peacock mention a joint hospital venture with Wake, as he talked he hesitated, real anger came across his face, and he said there were possible outside forces that were attempting to keep this from happening. Great to see that something Peacock had worked so hard to make happen is going to be a reality.

I've known this was going to go through for a while now. I think I even posted about it a few weeks back. My sister is going to be at the meeting since, as dept chair, she has been spearheading the meetings and Sunday prep classes that have already taken place. Gonzo is right. The best way for App to get just about anything done is to make sure it's as far away from the reach of the UNC system BOG's as possible. This is a good step in the right direction and a win for App and the CoHS and a win for Wake as well.
