That's fantastic! A fitting honor for Chancellor Peacock and a really nice gesture by the Raley family.

Will something else be named for Thelma Raley?

The article mentions a future commitment. I am guessing the commitment is now past tense. It notes she died in 2006 but I am guessing the commitment was taken care of before her death. I seem to remember rumors at the time it would take $1 million to get a name a the building, though I have no idea if that was true.

That is nice of the Raley family to be so gracious in their statement. I do like to see names on buildings from dedication and years of working at a place. It is nice to have the gifts with $ attached, but glad something is being done for Dr. Peacock.

I love the words of support for the renaming from the Raley family. Ken Peacock has been a tremendous asset to Appalachian. His shoes will be tough ones to fill.

Hopefully there will be a Charlie Cobb Hall as well based on everything he has done for ASU in a short period of time.

How about naming the urinals after him in his administrative castle. :)

Of course my post was oozing with sarcasm. Not to say that Peacock doesn't deserve it, but what has the university done for the winningest coach in ASU history who gave his all to ASU for 23 years????

Your right, John Weaver needs to have something named after him and get a full indoor facility.

Perhaps the naming opportunity was "available" because the Raley's never came through on their "commitment".

That's the way it reads to me.

I heard Peacock was sky diving onto the roof for the naming ceremony.

I was trying to ask that nicely.
