I was surprised to receive a notification from App in the newsfeed of Facebook today. The Appalachian Quidditch team has made the IQA Cup! Well as you can imagine i was very excited and then I stopped and thought WTH is Quidditch? Has anyone ever heard of it? I had to Google it. But by gosh im glad our nerds are some of the best around.

Guess you never read the Harry Potter books or saw the movies.

What's really funny was driving on campus last year when I saw a guy in shorts painted all gold running down Faculty St. And I saw him in several other places. Took a while before I realized he was the Snitch.

When I was in Boone all the weird alternative people dressed up in fake armor and beat each other up with fake swords on duck pond field. I guess they have stepped up their game and got brooms involved.

Be careful. We're supposed to be embarrassed by the mountain heritage of the school and offended at being called hillbillies.

My families all settled here in the 1600's so I think we've been called just about every name around. I know I have.

The only thing I know about Harry Potter is the ride at Universal. I liked it because my buddy got sick on it and almost threw up.
