ASU Beer
I plan to be in Boone this weekend. The North Carolina Section-American Assoc of Physics Teachers spring meeting is being hosted by App State. The Friday evening speaker and dinner is also going to be a time to have some complimentary ASU Fermentation Sciences beer. I am not a beer drinker, but I plan to try a bit. Has anyone had the ASU beer and what are your thoughts?

Re: ASU Beer
I recently had the, I believe, second round of Bee Student, which is the collaboration between Ivory Tower and Olde Hickory. Ivory Tower is the ASU brewery. I think these guys are on the right track. This round is an easily drinkable ale brewed with honey and some other ingredients. I thoroughly enjoyed it and think its something I could have several. In my opinion, its a little thinner than most beers of that style that I enjoy but, I did like a lot. I picked up a case of it at Peabody's in Boone because I like it. It didn't hurt that I felt like I was supporting the fermentation science program as a result. I'm really looking forward to other offerings. My only regret is this major wasn't offered during my time in Boone. As a bit of a homebrewer myself, this is something I would have been very interested in.

They had two brews on tap. One was a pale ale it seems, and the other more of a brown ale. I can't remember the exact type, but I was thinking they were both ales. I tried the brown ale and it was good. I am not a beer drinker but it was good.
If it was good to me it would mean it is either good beer or really, really bad beer and I don't know the difference between the two. I thought it was good and those around me that are beer drinkers seemed to think it was a good beer to drink. I was impressed.
