An ASU gem passes on

Many of you know or have heard of former ASU instructor Cleone Hodges. She passed away Sunday morning at home at the age of 103.

Wow...that is sad! I remember her teaching a health class that I took fall my freshman year. She retired after that year. The next time I saw her was at a Hall of Fame luncheon many years ago. My family and I sat at a table with her and Coach Brakefield. The highlite of the day was my son meeting Coach and talking with him. Mrs. Hodges was her usual charming and witty self, as she and Coach went back and forth about their golf game!
We don't slide at Appalachian State. It's a sign of weakness.

We lost a gem indeed. I remember when she had a Hole In One at the young age of 92 here at Hound Ears. Mrs. Hodges and Mrs. Adams were having quite a day!
