App State rebrand

I saw a total rebrand of App State floating around Twitter tonight. It's very modern and very different. I'm not a huge fan, as I believe the block A is iconic for Appalachian, but it could definitely grow on me after some time.

I'm assuming this is just a fan's concept that they've been working on for awhile. What do you think?

Terrible. I'd never buy another item with any of that stuff on it. Is tat Yosef or a riverboat gambler with the A in his hat?

Terrible and utterly generic at the same time.

As an art project I like the look. I would not want to move away from the current Block-A. But as something to talk about during the summer months, well we are talking about it.

So bad that the entire board is unanimous on it. That's REALLY bad.

FREAKING HORRIBLE. This better not be real. Whoever came up with that concept is no fan!

Let's not over react here. I don't like the designs either but let's not throw somebody under the bus because he is playing around with different designs. I love the vintage Yosef but many don't. I don't think they are less of fan because their taste is different than mine.

Elongated and distorted. If I were a Niner, I would like it, too. Anything to make App look bad. ;)

Other than the retro Yosef, all those things are God-awful! :o

I don't mind the New "A" kind of catchy. Also don't think the top right (B&W) Yosef is bad either.

I like our "block A" as well but it's really not unique without color, or the word mountaineer on it. (See "our A" I snapped in Tucson home of UA, for example ). I know it isn't a good pic, but I had to snap it fast and being on a mountain, I really didn't even think it was odd at first until I remembered I was in Tucson instead of Boone.

Don't care for the riverboat gambler, because it looks retro but it's not.

Got to give the kid credit for maybe doing better than a paid consultant would do.

What about that guy Eustace that lives near Boone that is on that tv show MOUNTAIN MEN? Let's use him as a real mascot.
