Just an inspiring story. So proud that App stepped up and is willing to give a kid a chance! He was the only graduate that received a standing ovation from every single person in the stadium when he got his diploma. Kid goes to my high school rival, but my wife's alma mater (we're both App grads).

Re: App gives a kid a chance!
I'm glad to read a story where:
1. A young person perseveres to make his own way regardless of obstacles rather than seeking to assign blame to another.
2. ASU admissions steps outside their "zone" and admits a student for qualities other than grades and SAT.
