She has read about App players many times when Dad proudly posts his Number and espouses greatly about the virtues of being a Mountaineer, I guess she finally spoke up.

I am 48, an adult, and my mind filters this stuff out, I hadn't really noticed it. But she is a sponge and without an ability to filter out lewd crap!, which this is.
Ironically posters are banned and posts deleted here for even the mildest of smack talk under the guise that MMB is a supposed family friendly board, but this is the preferred method allowed as advertising??? Get rid of it!! ! I'm Pissed!!!!!

Also, when I post from my phone, sometimes a video ad pops up and plays, which deleted what I'm posting.

I tried to get the "UNC Graduate School -- The Online MBA You Probably Can't Get Into" ad taken down a while back. Not sure they can filter certain advertisers.

This will be my last post until this has been addressed. This should not be on our "unofficial" message board.

Gonzo is right - we don't have a way of filtering some types of ads. Video and sound ads we can filter for the most part. Content is much different. I will work with the network to address this if it is something they can do. To be clear it isn't something where we selected scantily clad women as ads.

Have you tried firefox with ad blocker? I thought it was just on my computer for reasons I won't go into...

I use Google Chrome with adblock. I had no idea what I have been missing.

I've got the same thing. The ads were really messing me up when I was trying to build pages and post info so I went with AdBlock. Haven't had a problem since. I rarely do anything using my phone since I can't do the work with it but I also think that our many guests that are always on this board wouldn't like to see this either. Hopefully Yosef can tell the network that this is an open site where anyone of any age can see it. Those types of ads are not appropriate for an open site.

Yep - honestly I had not noticed it as I ignore the ads. If they can't fix it we will just dump that network.

There is an AdBlock for IE, Firefox, Opera, Safari and for iOS 6 and iOS 7 They're also free. Just do a Google search. I can't speak for the iOS versions.

For iOS users, try tapatalk. It's an app that let's you surf the boards much easier on a mobile device. No rep points, but no adds, either. Really great for phones during the game.

Thanks, 66. The IOS versions aren't too good. I think it's part of the Apple conspiracy.

I have never seen any of these ads because I use AdBlocker as well, but our visitors should never have to see that sort of thing when they visit the MMB. I trust that Yosef will take care of this.

Those ads should be removed now.
