Roku for $29.95 Free Shipping - Stream ESPN3

I've seen a bunch of you complaining about trying to find special cables to connect your phones to your TVs or issues streaming directly from a laptop. Newegg has the Roku 1 for $29.95 with free shipping which will allow you to stream ESPN3 games in HD along with many other apps. It is manufacturer refurbished and sold through Ebay but comes with the same warranty as new. I bought one of these six months ago with no issues and buying again. I like it much better than a Chromecast which always seems to lose the sync with the TV and has a bad delay. I think it comes with RCA type cables but you'll need an HDMI cable for the best quality.

Vette....techno void here. So if I have a wifi "connectable" TV it is just as simple as hooking up the Roku to the TV "logging on" and the access would be similar to a regular computer?

thanks for the advice.

You really don't even need the wifi TV... I think that just means the TV will accept a wifi adapter in which case you wouldn't even need the Roku assuming the TV has an ESPN app. However, I would assume the wifi adapter would be more expensive than the Roku.

With the Roku, you just plug in the power, plug in the HDMI cable, and it walks you through the setup which is very simple. For the initial setup, you'll need a computer or any device with a browser so you can create a Roku account. I should also mention you'll need access to WatchESPN / ESPN3 which comes free with most TV providers and some internet providers. However, I do know that DirecTV does not include the ESPN service. Time Warner Cable TV service does but not their internet service.
