App State's official Facebook page put up the linked post.
I figured this would spark two discussions. One about the posted question and one about a potential future female mascot.

Why ? there is not a female Ram nor blue devil nor tiger nor yellow jacket..............Why do we need EllIE Mae Clampett? How about a REAL bearded mascot instead of a papermache one?

Yeah, and my fear (based on the Blosef fiasco) is that we would end up with Granny instead of Elly May.Rekdiver wrote:Why ? there is not a female Ram nor blue devil nor tiger nor yellow jacket..............Why do we need EllIE Mae Clampett? I may be in the minority on this one but I'm not a proponent of a live-action Yosef. WVU has cornered the market on the live-action Mountaineer. It seems like ESPN does a special segment on that tradition every time they cover a game.

I like the Idea of a Senior being voted as a live Yosef each year. To your point though, Tennessee also has Davy Crockett.Gonzo wrote:I may be in the minority on this one but I'm not a proponent of a live-action Yosef.
