Attended the Forsyth County Alumni social last night at Finnigan's Wake in WS. Had a great time, good crowd, made some new friends. Many thanks to John Spivey for putting this together!

Also there was Doug Gillin. He sat with us for a few minutes. He had literally been across the state yesterday, was headed back to Boone and stopped to be a part of the social. As usual, he visited with every person there.

This guy is the real deal. His energy level is high and he is working hard in spreading the Appalachian brand. He is going to do big things for our school.

That's a good sign. His predecessor was not known for mixing with the folks.
