this is great news, Gillian said when he was hired that one of his strengths was corporate fund raising, I guess he is living up to the hype, cant wait to see what he does next, looks like he was a great hire

Those unis have been on hand for a couple years now. I believe it has something to do with new uniforms as well. However, would that come as "big news"? Maybe we're featured in a Nike commercial. Wouldn't surprise me with the short Nike videos our crew has been releasing on IG and the work TA Films has been doing at the Nike elite camp.

Does anyone know how this compares to other schools' contracts look?

I like our new contract as it is much better than previous years but it looks like we still have some brand building work to do.
Keep up the good work and let's continue raising the bar.

I think it shows that if we can somehow reach, anywhere close to the Boise level of play, there is a lot more money out there for us, and moving up to the FBS is starting to pay dividends, there is no way we get this increase if we stay in the FCS. Hopefully, this is just the tip of the iceburg when it comes to new revenue streams.

That is a nice increase and I think the students will love the increase in swag.
I wonder if Nike was pushing for a longer term deal (7 years), I think App is getting a good deal for the next three years, but Nike could be getting the better end of the stick in the later years as our value improves.

I think it was really interesting that we renegotiated a solid two years before the current deal was up. Not sure who is responsible for starting the talks, but whichever side it was, it was good move overall.

How do these contracts work? Is Nike giving us money to wear their apparel in hopes they sell enough of it to the public to make this money back and then a bit more?bigCasu wrote:I think it was really interesting that we renegotiated a solid two years before the current deal was up. And that the public, both in attendance at the games and on tv, will see the NIKE brand on our players. These people, the general public who buy personal items and others who buy for their community and school programs. Their is no telling how much this means for the NIKE company. Our brand is growing and was probably a nominal expense for their long term financial benefit.McLeansvilleAppFan wrote:How do these contracts work? I wonder what would happen if a player objected to the working conditions under which this apparel was made? Or does Nike make a point to make the authentic stuff in the USA or some country that is not treating the workers as essentially slaves. I know where the Nike branded shoes are made but am not sure of the real uniforms.

This is a win/win for both App and Nike, the money they have invested is minimal, and yet rewards for a up and coming program is large, and we, of course finally make enough money to really help our programs. Like I said, hopefully this is just the tip of the ice burg with better things to come.

I love the gold face masks! It's a subtle touch that will get people - even ESPN talking. It's one of those things a SportsCenter anchor will make mention of.T-Dog wrote:I think it's these.

I like Yosef as our mascot.....it ends there. I 'm sorry but i do not like the yosef on the helmet. The Block A is the Standard IMO. The unis are okay

I think the font is a bit to modern looking for the older look of the helmet logo. The font on its on is ok though I think it should be matched with an equally forward looking helmet design. Maybe a large "a" in the same font design. I like the colors.Appftw wrote:I like everything about these except for that ridiculous font.T-Dog wrote:I think it's these.

ya, I hate the corn cobb floating head on the helmet, if you want to put it on the pants or shoulder pads, fine, but not the helmet. We are trying to grow our brand nationally, hard to do, when you have a cartoon character on the helmet, the block A looks great, don't know why they want to mess with it.
