It was reported on his twitter account by his daughter that former App DL Mike Frier passed away last night. A 1992 NFL draft pick along with Gary Dandridge, he was paralyzed during his third NFL season when he was injured in a crash along with Seattle Seahawks teammates Lamar Smith and Chris Warren. I haven't seen any newspaper accounts of his passing yet (but one of several about the accident and his life struggles). Gone to soon at 46. May he Rest In Peace.

Big Mike struggled a bit in the classroom, but he was large and in charge when he was on the field. He was an all-SoCon DT as a freshman for Sparky Woods. For a while he had a running mate named Avery Hall. He was keeping pretty good company!

The injury was tragic. Mike was a good guy and deserved a better fate. RIP now, Mike.
