From the USA Today:

Looks like our subsidy % has gone up to 65%.

That is unsustainable.

The whole market structure is unsustainable. A crash is inevitable.

I think the numbers will be much better this year. The bandwagon got pretty light there after 2013. With Gillin aggressively pursuing more season tickets holders and the Miami game, I think we can at least get back to where we were. Interestingly, ODU (remember they're destined for P5 status just because) is at 64% subsidy.

Didn't we just recently reach 3 million in contributions (past 2 or 3 years)? It's encouraging that we're already so close to reaching 4 million.

Other expenses jumped 9M in one year, what is that?

The CPA in me hates this data. There are no reporting standards year over year, which less state to state or program to program.

The only take away for me is more than 50% of sub. from student fees is too much by any metric.

I can agree with that. The NCAA has said since the SIXTIES that "unprecedented rising expenses is unsustainable" yet 50 years later we're still here.

I also agree with Saint. It drives me crazy the lack of uniformity in reporting finances for the NCAAs member schools. They can unbelievably fudge numbers to show lack of profit but the one definite number in these reports is the subsidy percentage and we are way too high in that regard. Will be interested to see the 15-16 numbers.
