Why would they not mention the actual number?

I thought the same thing. I even read it again to see if I missed it. Maybe they want to wait till the end of the month to give the final figure, but if so, why would they say anything.

I'm sure we have surpassed last years low volume by like 5. Probably just trying to put a jolt in sales. Advertising 101

It's a notable accomplishment that I'm proud to be a part of. There's no doubt the Hurricanes coming to Boone had an impact.

Tell your friends. Now's the time to pick up season tickets and join the YC. Let's crush the record by more than "like 5."

Last fiscal year's number was just north of three million.

Here's the deal. Yosef donations can be reported in all sorts of ways. There are cash donations, in-kind donations, deferred donations, etc. Generally, when one hears a total donation number, every type of donation is considered. Also, pledges made in the current year for future years are often (usually?) counted in current year donations.

This year, Yosef is trying to reach $3,250,000 in cash donations. Those are the real dollars that fund scholarships and underlying programs, staffing, and the like. While Yosef membership and benefits run on a calendar year, reporting is done on the university's fiscal year of July 1 - June 30.

Bottom line that I read from the announcement is that we've passed last years total donation number (including all forms of donation), but we're still short on our cash donation goal.

Also, we have eclipsed last year's football season ticket numbers by a fair margin with 90 days left until the season. We're not at the goal of 7,500 season tickets yet, so there's still room to grow there, too.

Now is the time for that extra $10 ... or your first ever $10 ... if it's at all possible for you. Be Yosef! Our athletes like Cody McKinney (Football) and Sam Childress (WSOC) who were tabbed as Sun Belt Post-Graduate Scholars of the Year this week deserve our support.

If you read the article you would see that last year was the previous record year.
