Always made me smile when I saw him in his black and gold --- I met him at the beginning of the fall semester in '99 not long after dropping off our freshman daughter - I went up to Owens to see a friend who was a coach at that time and he introduced me to Gerald. Every dollar we have donated to Yosef since that day is a direction correlation to that day when I met Gerald !!!

Congrats!!! to the Adams. Hope the Lord continues to bless their family. I Greatly appreciate their efforts through the years and they will surely be missed in that capacity.
Had the pleasure to have lengthy conversation with Gerald once, they are some FINE folks!
They definitely have had a huge hand in what App has become.

Gerald
IS Yosef, personified! Even earlier in life when he lived and worked in Danville, he drove gold Caddys with personalized VA tags front and rear..."YOSEF." Despite the distance and weather involved, Gerald never missed a home football or basketball game. Many's the time over 20+ years, I'd be headed home from an ASU MBkB game after 10 PM on *two-lane* 421 in freezing rain, sleet or snow when that gold Caddy would slip by me with the "YOSEF" tag shining. He'd always blink his lights and wave as he blew by. Don't think he ever had an accident or got *many* tickets.

Truly amazing guy.
On another note, Gerald and I were friendly adversaries--both of us school district HR administrators and both of us recruiting some of the same prospects in 10-12 states on the east coast. Some funny job fair experiences we shared there. That was especially true when we were both after the same ASU seniors. He had a slight edge on salaries; I had a clear-cut edge with candidates who wanted to remain close to the university.

Can't remember the exact year that my wife and I met Gerald and his wife. We were sitting at an App vs Furman game in Travelers Rest,SC and my wife complimented both of them on their gold Nike footwear. These were yellow gold and not the vegas gold color and they made quite the statement. Talked with them throughout the game and I could tell just how much love both of them have for our beloved university. Happy Retirement to the Adams !
