I was in the middle of 203 and from where I sat it sounded a lot like most full stadium crowds. The students were also very into the game. I felt like the team fed off the crowd energy. Very exciting second half but also gut wrenching end.

Honestly this has gone on for years and I think alot of factors play in. Student support was great yesterday and I am an old foagie. The problem I see has many factors. Number one, I think the students who did leave were students who dressed for the tailgate (short skirts, khakis, a polo) and got cold. At least they showed up, from club level you could see alot of empty spaces in Stadium and the other parking lots. The donors and the alums don't show up for December football. The atmosphere is just not the same. Its not as big of a "party". Third, I think App has alot of great diehard football fans. However they only exceed about 7,500. Everyone else in that stadium is there for a social event and a party. Our administration has done such a great job with our atmosphere and tailgating, that the majority of the reason anywhere from 8-10 thousand people attend KBS every Saturday is because its a social. Ehh the football is something to center peice around, but its a drinking and party crowd, even with the older folks like myself. Otherwise I thought the crowd that was there was great. Into the game and loud. However alot of people, even season ticket holders missed out.

When the decision as to which side of the field we would play on in overtime was made... HUNDREDS of students jam-packed that end of the stadium. They physically moved locations to "help" our team down there..

If we hadn't let them score on the first play from scrimmage the noise down that way would've been deafening!

Chill out people. This is NOT the first time people have complained about people leaving early...

I was at every game this season except for this playoff game. Each game (and pretty much every year prior - students left early (particularly those that were sitting at the end zone this year and last). I saw them leaving again at halftime on ESPN3. Maybe they came back - I couldn't tell.

If they stayed - excuse the error. I'm making a general observation that this is a bad trend.

I'm sorry, I understand you had obligations of some sort and couldn't come to the game... but, you can't bitch about the fans at the game if you're sitting on your couch at home.

I hate how the old people continually thumb their nose at the students for not showing up even though there's miles and miles of visible alumnimum in the old peoples' sections.

Our season just ended on a first round playoff loss and all our fans want to do is talk about other fans not showing up. Seriously who cares.

Too funny, you are complaining about people telling you not to complain.

You don't wont people to tell you what to complain about but you want to tell people when they should or shouldn't leave a football game.

I'm not able to make the playoff game due to obligations, but am watching the game on ESPN3. Students are leaving the game early once again - right before half-time is starting (as we're charging down the field). IT IS THE FREAKING PLAYOFFS!!! WHERE ARE YOU GOING?? We need fans to stay and support the team - not Klondike.

I'm pro FBS move, but have real concerns that these students won't even make it past the first quarter (and other so-called "fans" that leave early) if we struggle with bigger FBS opponents.

This board never ceases to amaze me...

When the athletic department is picking up the tab for these students to attend playoff games I don't think it is unreasonable to expect them to stay until the end. The students who really get into the game and give the Apps a true home field advantage are great, but we have a lot who are simply there for the social aspect. Heard where several said they were leaving early to watch the GA Alabama game. Great fans eh? I thought the season ticket crowd turnout was pathetic. Embarassing for such a picture perfect day. Real fans eh?

One thing I do not like is the students saying "You Suck a##hole" when we kick off. Other schoo'ls fans encourage their team covering or returning kicks, but for some reason our students decide to be aholes themselves. I am no prude, but that garbage has to stop.
