Re: Saturday's Bowl TV Ratings
I liked this part - "The Appalachian State/Ohio Camellia Bowl also drew a 1.4, up 133% from last year’s inaugural Bowling Green/South Alabama game..." 1.4 rating looks like it equates to about 2 million + viewers. That's a pretty good advertisement.

Still a bit lower than our 2009 game with Montana in the FCS playoffs. That one had a rating of 1.9.

Being on ABC vs ESPN is worth a sizable bump.

IIRC, didn't the first half of our game overlap with Utah-BYU and the second half with the NFL game?Capt. Ed wrote:Still not bad as game started about the time folks were heading out for a Saturday evening whatever.

Re: Saturday's Bowl TV Ratings
I would love to see a graph of like how many viewers were tuned in by the end of the game compared to how many were at the start

Yes, and the Arizona/New Mexico game ran long, so the start of App's game was on ESPN News until several minutes into the 1st quarter.EastHallApp wrote:IIRC, didn't the first half of our game overlap with Utah-BYU and the second half with the NFL game?Capt. “When you take that field today, you've got to lay that heart on the line, men. From the souls of your feet, with every ounce of blood you've got in your body, lay it on the line until the final whistle blows.”
Re: Saturday's Bowl TV Ratings
The highest rated games were on ABC. Not surprising.
Casual football fans were probably watching BYU vs Utah and the NFL game while we were playing.
I'd be very interested in seeing the local ratings in North Carolina. Because, I bet a very large chunk of that viewership came from App fans in-state.
Kind of related...
I saw this last week. Football is king.

Re: Saturday's Bowl TV Ratings
So we can either make an FCS Semi-Final once every 10 years, or make a bowl game EVERY year and get about the same amount of viewers. Got it.
