At some point I'm hoping y'all realize not everything is about you. It's a freaking white out not the end of the damn world. Grow up, it's a white shirt. The kids want this and at some point you have to acknowledge its not all about you. Some of y'all are pathetic to say the least.
The other issue I have is every time we try to do something like this we do it halfway and expect the fans to coordinate everything. The only way these things work is if shirts are provided. I'm not sure we need to spend ~$125,000 on t-shirts ($5* 25,000) to make it work.
The BOD plays the SoCal marching fight song for crying out loud....the cats out of the bag when it comes to copying stuff. If it works who cares?
I will say it is funny that there wasn't this much talk about the grey unis a few years back.

I'll tell you what cracks me up is a todays 24 year old telling other people it ain'y all about you. Thats what cracks me up. This fan base that you have such a big problem with is paying the bills so they can wear what ever they want. Lots of them are thinking that It aint all about you(:Yosef10 wrote:Too much is trying to be done? ITS A DAMN UNIFORM. Whether you wanna acknowledge it or not it's a big deal to 17/18 year olds. This program and its day to day decisions aren't about y'all as much as y'all wish it was. Just go watch a damn football game and enjoy it. I swear y'all won't care when we win regardless if we're wearing black or white. Acknowledging things ain't what they used to be, but my issue is with the pace at which these changes are happening. Slow and steady is all I am suggesting. It is also a more effective approach.

Something like this would need to be sponsored. It's not something we'd pay for out of athletic budget. If we can't find a sponsor...then don't do it. Correction...just don't do it regardless.JTApps1 wrote: I'm not sure we need to spend ~$125,000 on t-shirts.

This is bad, bad karma, folks! Nothing good will come of this silly uprising.
Where has all this righteous indignation been over all the years that North Carolina's Band of Distinction has played "The Tennessee Waltz" and "Rocky Top" after every home FB game?

Well I've said it before and I'll say it again. What the hell does Sean Connery have to do with ASU? Since we're starting new traditions lets get rid of him too

The fact that it's been played every pregame for the last 10 years...that's what. It started as a silly choice and it stuck. You don't "create" traditions. They happen organically over time.MJ1988 wrote:What the hell does Sean Connery have to do with ASU? Since we're starting new traditions lets get rid of him too
It's not the cleanest piece of audio...I wish we could contact the production company and get the dry (voice only) audio to enhance the voice part with. I think it sounds cool. Could be a little clearer.

Re: Athletics announced White Out for Old Dominion
Rekdiver,
March Grandioso is the song that I think you are talking about. It is not Southern Cal's fight song. That song is played all over the country. Marching bands at Texas, Texas Tech, Nebraska, and other universities play that song at football games. I really like the song and fans all around me like it too! To me, it is a great song to be played at football games and most people associate that song with COLLEGE FOOTBALL! I never heard it played at any SOCON games and I haven't heard it it at any Sun Belt schools. I have contacted the band director at APP for several years and informed him how much the fans and I like it and I requested that we continue playing MARCH GRANDIOSO! I kind of think it is becoming a part of our tradition! I guess you can't please all of our fans all the time! It sure pumps me up and gets me ready for APP STATE FOOTBALL!

Remember when he got replaced for Eric Church in 2013 for the first three games? The people who got him to do it are still mad that the fans rejected it.APPdiesel wrote:The fact that it's been played every pregame for the last 10 years...that's what. I love the "welcome to the rock". I just want people associated with ASU to do the line. Past players, coaches , well know alums. I know, I know, the Eric Church wasn't well received but I still think done right it could work well. First I think it needs to be done live. The video leading up to the actual line would introduce the person by splashing images in with the usual intro video. Then you would get a live shot of the person doing the line. My first choice would go like this. It would be coach Moore, you would sneak him into the center of the west side student section, coach Moore loved the student fans. When it's time to deliver the line an image of coach surrounded by the student would flash on the screen and he delivers the line. It's important that the line be delivered in the same cadence as the Connery bit. In my opinion that's what caused the Church bit to get rejected. The rhythm of the whole think has to stay the same you just have different folks deliver the line. My second choice would be Peacock. I would put him in a black turtle neck and hat just like Connery and have him turn and deliver the line in the exact same way. That would be a great transition from the Connery bit. Just saying, it needs to be App. people delivering the line.

Re: RE: Re: Athletics announced White Out for Old Dominion
My point though, and I guess it's just a differing of opinions...is that nobody can deliver that line with the same bravado as Sean Connery. I mean...it's James Freaking Bond (literally and figuratively, because if you remember the insinuation in that movie is his character is a captured James Bond we've held for years without trial) unleashing our players onto the field. It doesn't get much cooler than that. Why try to force an imitation that has been rejected by fans before?MJ1988 wrote:I love the "welcome to the rock". I stand corrected but it is a staple of Texas, the fans even spell Texas out during the song. You may be correct but I don't associate this song with App. My point is/was we copy lots of stuff so a whiteout should be no big deal.APP72 wrote:Rekdiver,
