Re: write up about moore's "retiring"
Honest question, should folks outside the program have known he was leaving?

Re: Three sides to the story
Excellent post, rep point.
I could not agree more and I truly hope all the in-fighting will calm down a bit once we have hired a new coach and know what conference we will be playing in long-term. What's done is done and all the bickering is tiresome.
As for anyone who threatens to pull their Yosef Club funding over how the situation was handled, I just hope they consider who that would REALLY hurt. It is not Charlie Cobb.

Re: write up about moore's "retiring"
I believe I already addressed the part meant for me. I posted an observation based on a salary scale I saw. If it was incorrect then I apologize. Care to show me where I ignored any facts?JCline0429 wrote:Good post but facts will be ignored. Rep point for your effort in setting things straight.
Re: Three sides to the story
agree 100% but someone will keep bring this up until we find out if we are moving up in a couple of weeks. If we move up, this will be forgotten quickly, if we are left behind, Moore supporters are going to raise hell saying coach should have never been "let go", becouse we are still in the FCS, and he still should have been given atleast 1 more year.

If you mean several weeks ago, I definitely remember and it cleared up a lot of distortions, but I don't recall anyone making an insane amount as some referenced..not even in comparison to other staff members.
FWIW, I wasn't addressing your comment, just posts in general from members on here.

Re: Three sides to the story
Yeah, I understand all that and also the media might jump on this too but I guess I was trying to say that most of those things we have no control over and I am just trying to move forward the best I can. Only each person can choose that path for themselves. Hopefully most of will choose to do the same.moehler wrote:agree 100% but someone will keep bring this up until we find out if we are moving up in a couple of weeks. Re: Three sides to the story
I am a "One Moore Season" guy. However, I also realize time moves on and as per usual heals. To continue to fight for (what was once and will never again be) can damage the program. It is after all about the kids and the program. It is recruiting season. I am on board with moving on and will only be supportive of the the new coach. (YOUR POST IS VALID).
Similar to the love and support shown for another football legend (Brett Farve) who shocked the sporting world when he decided to return instead of retire, the people making decisions made the right call for the "Program" and alas Aaron Rodgers. When the next kickoff occurs APP FANS WILL BE APP FANS. HALF WILL YELL APP THE OTHER HALF STATE AND ALL WILL BE WELL IN THE BLACK AND GOLD NATION.

Re: write up about moore's "retiring"
I don't throw things around without checking them. I had seen a list that showed what I said. Your accusation bothered me though, so I went back and dug out the information. From the 2011 N.C. University salary database, the only assistant coach with a higher salary than C. Moore was D. Jones. Speir had the same salary as Moore. So he was the second highest paid coach on the staff. No myths here.AppGrad78 wrote:appst89 wrote:His son was the second highest paid coach on the staff, and he rose to that level very quickly, passing some other folks along the way.JCline0429 wrote:GlassOnion wrote:They were trying to save Jerry Moores reputation, instead of firing him publicly for losing control of the program, paying his son an insane amount of money, his sons own antics, and other failures on and off the field, such as not recruiting for 2 years, and his staff having arguments and not being able to even get a play called to the QB in the middle of the game.Appersrule wrote:Well I lost all respect for Peacock and Cobb for trying to paint a different picture than the real story and tried to hide between a poorly worded press release.
Perhaps they should just list all of the reasons, and let JMs reputation absorb the impact, instead of the entire program, because these peeons that dont even follow App football are creating a stir without even knowing whats been going on.
His son should have been let go, but as to the salary, someone on here posted the staff's salaries and his wasn't out of line with the rest based on experience.
Glenn: His son wasn't the second-highest paid coach on the staff and I'm surprised you would perpetuate that myth. Jones and Speir had significantly higher salaries. ASU's football salaries were/are largely based on length of service. That's where Chris Moore had an edge over guys like Elder, Holt and Glenn. Certainly Chris Moore's firing was justified, but to suggest Jerry Moore lined his son's pockets is wrong. By the way, all salaries and salary increases are approved by the athletic director.
